Normal Market Size

When shares are traded, the market makers have to quote a bid price and offer price at which they will deal. But the prices they quote only have to be honoured up to a certain size of order Ð the normal market size Ð based on a percentage of the shares average daily turnover in the previous year. The NMS can normally be purchased or sold without moving the market.
